Haman-gun Scholarship Foundation Holds 60th Board Meeting ... Discussion on Key Agendas

The board of directors of the Haman-gun Scholarship Foundation, established for the development of regional education and the nurturing of future talents in Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, was held in the medium conference room on the 3rd floor of the annex building of Haman-gun Office.


At the meeting held on the 26th, 11 participants including County Governor Jo Geun-je and foundation executives discussed major agenda items such as the revision of operating rules, selection of Dream Scholarship recipients, the 2025 business plan, and the 2025 budget review.

According to the board's decision, the Haman-gun Scholarship Foundation decided to provide scholarships totaling 1.8 million KRW to six out-of-school youths under the Out-of-School Youth Act under the name of the Dream Scholarship. In addition, the scholarship amount for outstanding and special talent middle school students was changed from 300,000 KRW to 500,000 KRW, and dormitory fees for university students were also included for new university entrants.


The 2025 revenue and expenditure budget was approved at 2,943.18 million KRW, an increase of 343.58 million KRW from this year's 2,599.6 million KRW. Furthermore, a budget of 536.4 million KRW was allocated for targeted projects in 2025 to provide scholarships to approximately 658 elementary, middle, high school, and university students, and dormitory fees will be supported for 52 university students.


Scholarship applications will be accepted in January for the first half of next year and in July for the second half, with award ceremonies scheduled for March and September, respectively.


Meanwhile, the Haman-gun Scholarship Foundation, established in May 2008, has been providing scholarships and housing support to students with excellent academic performance and university students from the region. It also operates a special scholarship system that awards scholarship certificates in the name of donors who contribute more than 100 million KRW.
