According to the county on the 27th, this first snowfall recorded an unusual snow accumulation of around 15 cm across all areas of the county, including 21.3 cm on Yongmunsan Mountain.

Despite the sudden heavy snowfall, the county maintained the disaster safety countermeasure headquarters response stage from the preliminary advisory phase to ensure thorough situation management. Emergency duty began at midnight before the snow started, with 453 initial snow removal vehicles and 400 tons of snow removal materials such as calcium chloride and salt being spread. All snow removal equipment, including graders and shovels, and 461 personnel were mobilized to conduct overnight snow removal operations on major county roads and townships.

Additionally, on the morning of the 27th, county office officials completed snow removal work around the county office, major downtown areas, bus stops, and side streets to prevent pedestrian safety accidents. Snow removal volunteers were also deployed to towns and townships, lending helping hands in various locations.

So far, reported damages include 36 fallen roadside trees and 3 power outage reports, which are being handled by deploying local autonomous disaster prevention teams. The county is sharing the situation maintenance system with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to minimize residents' inconvenience through rapid recovery, concentrating all administrative efforts.

Governor Jeon Jin-seon inspected the snow removal site early in the morning and said, “Public officials will do their utmost in snow removal operations for the safety of the residents, and I ask everyone to pay attention to clearing snow in front of their homes and stores and managing agricultural facilities to minimize damage caused by the sudden temperature drop.”
