A man in his 20s who sent threatening messages via social networking services (SNS) to the victim of the 'Busan Dolleochagi' incident was sentenced to a suspended prison term.

On the 27th, Judge Ji Chung-hyun of the Criminal Division 6 at the Seoul Western District Court sentenced Oh (27), who was indicted for violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act (obscenity using communication media), threats, and violation of the Stalking Punishment Act, to one year in prison with a two-year suspension. In addition, he was ordered to attend 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures and 30 hours of stalking treatment programs.


The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The defendant's guilt does not appear to be light, and the victim wants punishment. However, considering that this is the first offense."


Oh was brought to trial on charges of secondary harm by sending messages that caused sexual shame and disgust to the victim of the Busan Dolleochagi incident via SNS 10 times from August to October last year. He also threatened the victim with the intent of saying "You deserve to be hit" and that he would hit them.


Meanwhile, the 'Busan Dolleochagi' incident refers to the case on May 22, 2022, around 5 a.m., when a man in his 30s, Lee, chased and assaulted the victim returning home in Seomyeon, Busanjin-gu, Busan, with the intent to sexually assault her. Lee was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Supreme Court last year.
