Run Along the 5.4km Coastal Railway and Enjoy the Sea Scenery 'Popular'
Samcheok City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Park Sang-su) announced on the 27th that the Samcheok Marine Rail Bike, a representative tourist attraction of Samcheok City, has completed intensive maintenance throughout November and will resume normal operations starting in December.

Through this maintenance, Samcheok City replaced 1,700 railroad ties installed on the track between Gungchon Station and Yonghwa Station, and comprehensively refurbished the facilities at the stations and rest areas. The reopening date is this Sunday, December 1. Reservations for the rail bike can be made through the official Samcheok Rail Bike website.
The Samcheok Marine Rail Bike operates in a total of five sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with each ride taking about one hour.

An official from the Samcheok Marine Tourism Center stated, “During this maintenance period, we replaced the aging railroad ties and carried out overall facility repairs,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences not only for the marine rail bike but also for other tourist facilities.”
Meanwhile, the Samcheok Marine Rail Bike opened in 2010 and operates on a 5.4 km railroad track connecting Gungchon Village and Yonghwa Village in Geundeok-myeon, Samcheok City.
