Emoticon Plus Reaches 2.5 Million Subscribers

Kakao announced on the 27th that Kakao Emoticons have reached their 13th anniversary since launch. The cumulative number of individual emoticons is approximately 700,000, and the total number of sent emoticons has surpassed 280 billion.

The 'Mini Emoticons' released in March this year have been experienced by 17 million people, according to research. This means that one out of every three people nationwide has used 'Mini Emoticons.' 'Mini Emoticons' are small-sized emoticons that can be freely used alongside text within KakaoTalk conversations. They allow various objects to be expressed together with text inside KakaoTalk chat bubbles, and a distinctive feature is that different types of mini emoticons can be included in a single chat bubble.

The number of subscribers to Kakao Emoticon Plus has increased by 500,000 compared to the previous year, exceeding 2.5 million. Kakao Emoticon Plus, a subscription service, allows unlimited use of individual emoticons according to emotions or situations and provides automatic recommendations based on keywords.
