EV Charging Also Joins Subscription Economy... Hyundai Motor Launches Service in Indonesia

Allowing Other Companies' Customers to Join... Building a Local Ecosystem

Hyundai Motor Company is launching an electric vehicle (EV) charging subscription service in Indonesia. The company plans to expand charging infrastructure and allow customers of other brands to subscribe, aiming to build a local EV ecosystem.

On the 27th, Hyundai announced that it will start the EV charging subscription service for Hyundai vehicle owners in Indonesia from the 28th.

The EV charging subscription service can be subscribed to and used through Hyundai's 'MyHyundai Indonesia' application (app). Subscribers can freely use 518 EV chargers at 288 EV charging stations operated by Hyundai and its partner companies in Indonesia.

The EV charging subscription service offers three charging capacity options: 50 kWh, 100 kWh, and 250 kWh. If the set charging capacity is fully used, additional payments can be made to continue charging. Considering Indonesia's unique situation with delayed card adoption, mobile payment services are supported. From September onwards, Hyundai EV buyers in Indonesia will receive a one-year discount when using the EV charging subscription service.

This EV charging subscription service is the only one in Indonesia that allows the use of chargers from different charging operators. Hyundai plans to increase its partner charging companies starting next month. From January next year, customers of other brands' EVs will also be able to subscribe to MyHyundai Indonesia.

Lee Joo-hoon, head of Hyundai Motor Indonesia sales corporation, stated, "Although Indonesia's EV ecosystem is still in its early stages, we will contribute to the development of the local EV ecosystem through innovative services like the subscription service and the expansion of EV charging infrastructure."
