"Pressure Until Blood Rushes"...Signs of Habitual Abuse
At a dog daycare center, footage showing habitual abuse of companion dogs and the use of electric shock collars on their necks has been revealed, causing shock. On the 26th, SBS reported, "A complaint of animal abuse was filed against a dog daycare center located in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, and the police have launched an investigation."

The closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage released by SBS that day showed a man dressed in black cornering a companion dog and repeatedly hitting its head and back with his fist. He also lifted the dog by pulling its leash upward, causing the dog to struggle painfully as its neck was choked.
The facility is known to care for and train companion dogs, with an average of about 70 dogs entrusted daily. The abuse was uncovered when the facility sent a video of training a dog to one owner, which included scenes of assault. Subsequently, during the process of other customers confirming the damage, it was also revealed that the facility had fitted the dogs with devices that deliver electric shocks to prevent barking without consulting the owners.
The affected dog owners expressed, "The dog suddenly backed away from people or trembled closely," "It seems like it became foolish from the abuse," and "When they tried to put on the leash, the dog would go into the kennel and tremble uncontrollably like a trembling aspen. We didn’t know this was happening here."
Eventually, the facility’s owner and staff reportedly admitted to the assault in a handwritten apology letter. A former employee who worked there claimed, "(When the dog barks) the owner would apply pressure to the trachea to the point where blood would rush and breathing would become difficult, then release it," alleging that the owner abused the dogs under the pretense of training.
The affected dog owners filed a complaint with the police accusing the daycare center’s owner, a man in his 30s identified as A, and others of animal abuse. The police have booked A and one instructor and are verifying the abuse based on CCTV analysis and other evidence.
