Hyundai Car Crushed Under Tree... Driver Not Injured at All

"Shocking Accident... Grateful for the Fact That Everyone Is Safe"

A tree toppled by strong winds in the United States fell onto a vehicle. Although the car was damaged, the college student inside escaped unharmed. It was later revealed that the vehicle was a Hyundai, sparking interest among local netizens.

On the 25th (local time), the U.S. regional broadcaster KING-TV highlighted an accident that occurred on the 19th in the Lake City area north of Seattle. At that time, the U.S. was under the influence of a massive cyclone with strong winds blowing. Unable to withstand the wind, a tree snapped and quickly fell onto a blue Hyundai driving on the road.

Tyson Ramirez, who was driving the vehicle at the time, said that as soon as he saw the tree falling toward him, he bent forward in his seat to brace for impact. As he expected, the tree fell onto the car roof. After the accident, Ramirez tried to escape from the car, but the tree trunk pressed down on both the driver’s and passenger’s seats, making it impossible to open the doors. Eventually, with the help of nearby pedestrians and 911, he was able to escape from the car after about 90 minutes.

Ramirez shared his feelings, saying, "After getting out of the car, I hugged my parents. I was grateful to be able to safely go home that night." He added, "It was a shocking accident, but I felt thankful that I was unharmed and safe even while trapped." The local broadcast revealed that the vehicle was a 'Hyundai,' but did not disclose the model.

Ramirez is known to be a graduate student pursuing a PhD in Economics at Washington State University. After the accident, he posted his story on the online fundraising site GoFundMe. Ramirez stated that the car was completely destroyed in the accident and that he plans to raise $5,000 (about 7 million KRW) to purchase a new vehicle.

Meanwhile, the storm that hit the U.S. that day is called a "bomb cyclone." In the Northwestern U.S., the bomb cyclone caused two deaths and power outages in hundreds of thousands of households, resulting in widespread damage. In Seattle, a tree toppled by strong winds struck nearby houses and roads, and a woman in her 50s staying at a homeless camp died.

Regarding this, CNN reported that "this bomb cyclone was recorded as a powerful storm that occurs once every ten years."
