Gwangju Urban Corporation held a winter “Love Kimchi Sharing” event on the 26th for socially marginalized groups in the community and residents of permanent rental apartments managed by the corporation.

Since 2015, the corporation has been delivering kimchi to socially marginalized groups through the annual year-end “Love Kimchi Sharing” event. On this day, 2,900kg of kimchi was distributed to 580 vulnerable households in the region.

The event was jointly participated in by employees of the Urban Corporation and staff from the welfare center of the permanent rental housing. It was a meaningful time spent practicing the spirit of coexistence, with community members coming together beyond a simple donation event.

Kim Seung-nam, president of Gwangju Urban Corporation, said, “I hope this Love Kimchi Sharing event will be of some help to the marginalized groups struggling due to the economic downturn and high prices,” and added, “In the upcoming year of Eulsa 2025, we will further expand sharing management for neighbors in need within the community.”
