YouTube Channel 'CapsTV' Nears 30,000 Subscribers in One Month
Focuses on Making Security Services Approachable
Security company SK Shieldus is gaining popularity by introducing security services, which can sometimes feel rigid and difficult, through entertaining content. This is about ‘CapsTV,’ a YouTube channel launched last month. SK Shieldus, which operates ADT Caps, plans to use this channel to communicate with customers by presenting security technology and safety issues in a familiar way.
According to SK Shieldus on the 27th, CapsTV secured nearly 30,000 subscribers within a month of its launch. The channel consists of segments such as ‘Caps Collaboration,’ created in partnership with creators; ‘Caps’ Perspective,’ featuring actual report videos from ADT Caps’ front door CCTV CapsHome customers; and ‘Caps Classic,’ which compiles past ADT Caps commercials.
The rapid rise in popularity was driven by collaboration content with ‘Shortbox,’ which has 3 million subscribers and resonates with the 20s and 30s generation. This content dealt with various situations occurring in jewelry stores and how ADT Caps’ security services respond to them. ‘Shortbox’ cast members disguised as intruders asked questions about AI CCTV and 24-hour emergency dispatch services, creating entertaining scenarios. The approximately 8-minute video recorded 2.97 million views.
Several edited versions of the ADT Caps content in short-form videos have also been created, each garnering over 100,000 views and gaining popularity. Watching this content naturally conveys to viewers that ADT Caps’ AI CCTV enables real-time video security and big data analysis. For example, the ‘AI Video Search’ feature, which supports quick video searches by selecting detailed keywords such as gender and color, is introduced through a story of a couple proposing at a jewelry store.
Before launching the CapsTV channel, SK Shieldus actively implemented marketing strategies using influencers. A representative case is the YouTube content produced in June this year with broadcaster and model Han Hye-jin, who has 800,000 subscribers, aimed at preventing residential intrusion crimes by providing information on home security services. This content, which recorded 2 million views, attracted attention as Han Hye-jin revealed privacy violations she experienced from unauthorized visitors at her villa in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province. The video shows Han Hye-jin installing and personally using the security service at the Hongcheon villa. An ADT Caps security consultant visited the site to diagnose security vulnerabilities and conducted customized security consulting by selecting CCTV installation areas. The process of experiencing the ‘CapsHome’ feature, which allows real-time monitoring of the front door situation via an app and broadcasts warning voices, was also included.
An SK Shieldus official said, "We plan to produce sketch comedies, web dramas, and web entertainment that present the importance of security in an entertaining way," adding, "We will continue to use digital channels to communicate with customers of various age groups from a customer-friendly perspective and provide useful information for security."
