Chosun University announced on the 26th that it held an opening ceremony for the Digital Trade Comprehensive Support Center (deXter) at the Advanced Industry-Academia Campus on the 25th. The center serves as a KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) export support hub for outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises.
The opening ceremony was attended by Chosun University President Kim Chun-sung, Vice Dean of Industry-Academia Cooperation Choi Cheol-woong, Head of the Advanced Industry-Academia Campus Joo Ki-nam, KOTRA Planning and Coordination Director and DX Promotion Director Lee Geum-ha, Gwangju-Jeonnam Support Group Leader Yoon Jeong-hyeok, and representatives from companies including Jeon Seung-il, CEO of Rapine J and Chairman of the Gwangju Cosmetics Industry Promotion Association.
Gwangju deXter is the first ‘KOTRA Digital Trade Hub’ in the Gwangju-Jeonnam region, providing various supports to help local companies export products online. It assists with product photography and registering products on KOTRA’s Buy KOREA platform. Additionally, it discovers overseas buyers through digital marketing, offers company matching consultations, and provides digital marketing education for job seekers, entrepreneurs, and companies to apply in practical work.
Chosun University explained that through this initiative, the digital gap among local companies will be bridged, creating a digital trade environment where anyone can export.
President Kim Chun-sung of Chosun University emphasized, “I hope the university space will transform into one used for regional development,” adding, “We will do our best to make the Advanced Industry-Academia Campus a center for local company growth and startup support.”
Lee Geum-ha, KOTRA Planning and Coordination Director, stated, “Gwangju has developed into the 10th largest export city nationwide, exporting $17 billion annually, and we expect more companies to participate in export activities through the activation of deXter,” adding, “I hope the deXter platform will be well utilized as an opportunity for universities and the region to grow together.”
Meanwhile, Chosun University signed a business agreement with KOTRA in June to support regional development and youth employment and entrepreneurship.
