BPA Hosts the 2nd International Conference on Smart Port Logistics Innovation Technologies

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) will jointly host the 2nd International Conference on Innovation of Smart Port and Logistics (IISPLL) with Pusan National University on the 27th.

This conference is part of the 'Regional Innovation System (RIS)' project promoted under the agreement signed with Korea Maritime and Ocean University last August, focusing on the smartization and technological innovation in the port logistics sector.

The Regional Innovation System (RIS) project is jointly promoted by the government (Ministry of Education) and local governments to build an innovative ecosystem based on partnerships between local governments and universities, aiming at talent development, job creation, and improvement of living conditions. In Busan, 14 regional universities including Korea Maritime and Ocean University are participating.

BPA is participating as the lead institution for the sub-project 'O2O (Offline to Online) Port Logistics Enterprise Support Sandbox Construction' in the 'Smart Port Logistics' field, one of the three core areas of the regional innovation platform.

The three core areas are Smart Port Logistics, Eco-friendly Smart Ships, and Clean Energy Convergence Components and Materials.

The conference consists of nine sessions on topics such as marine systems engineering, data-driven logistics optimization, and smart port technologies. About 100 researchers from universities in the Busan area and invited universities from Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan will present approximately 40 academic papers.

Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, stated, “Busan Port will actively participate in the establishment and activation of the regional innovation platform to help young talents accelerate innovation and smartization in the port logistics industry.”
