Expecting Increased Resident Interaction and Improved Living Convenience Around Jungnangcheon Area
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) and Dongdaemun-gu signed a business agreement on the 26th to create a suspension bridge over Jungnangcheon.
The agreement ceremony, held in the Planning Situation Room of Jungnang-gu Office in the morning, was attended by Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu, Mayor Lee Pil-hyung of Dongdaemun-gu, and about 10 officials from both districts.
The Jungnangcheon suspension bridge will be a new bridge connecting Myeonmok-dong in Jungnang-gu and Hwikyung-dong in Dongdaemun-gu. It was promoted to enhance the convenience of local residents' lives and to achieve mutual development in various fields such as economy, culture, and tourism.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ the site, design, and scale related to the suspension bridge construction ▲ permissions from related organizations such as land occupancy ▲ securing funds for project promotion.
Through this agreement, the district expects the Jungnangcheon suspension bridge to be successfully constructed and for the Jungnangcheon area to be reborn as a local landmark.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I hope this agreement will be an opportunity for Jungnang-gu and Dongdaemun-gu to cooperate and successfully complete the project,” adding, “I expect the suspension bridge to activate cultural and economic exchanges between the two areas and become a special space for residents.”
