This seminar was organized to provide practical assistance in managing exchange rate risks for region-based export-import companies by sharing information on domestic and international financial and foreign exchange market issues, as well as major global market trends. About 50 people responsible for export-import operations from local companies attended.

At the seminar, Jeong Yong-taek, Senior Advisor at IBK Investment & Securities, gave a special lecture on the topic of ‘Recent Major Issues and Outlook in the Foreign Exchange Market,’ which received great responses from the attendees.

Kim Cheong-ho, Head of the Treasury Market Division at Busan Bank, said, “Due to concerns over strengthened U.S. protectionism with the potential re-election of Trump and geopolitical crises such as those in Ukraine and the Middle East, 2025 is expected to be another year of great uncertainty. We prepared this seminar to help export-import companies in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam manage exchange rate risks and maintain stable operations.” He added, “We will continue to develop various programs for companies in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.”

Busan Bank operates a derivatives desk for the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions, providing customized services specialized for local companies, including exchange rate forecasts, exchange rate risk management strategies using foreign exchange derivatives, and export-import support services.
