Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will hold the anti-Japanese requiem concert "Pureunsol" by the Gyeongbuk Percussionists' Association Nuri Orchestra at 3 p.m. on the 27th at the Cheongsong Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater.
The anti-Japanese requiem "Pureun Sol" concert is a musical event prepared to honor the spirits of numerous righteous army soldiers and independence fighters from Cheongsong-gun, serving as a meaningful occasion to reflect on the history of the anti-Japanese struggle.
In particular, this performance gains added significance as it commemorates the 120th anniversary of the passing of Shim Seong-ji, a 66-year-old veteran who led the victory in the Gameun-ri Battle.
Additionally, disabled organizations have been invited to this concert, providing an opportunity to learn about history that is usually difficult to access in an easy-to-understand manner. Through this, it is expected that all audiences will be able to culturally experience the noble spirit of the anti-Japanese righteous army.
Yoon Kyung-hee, the county governor, stated, "I hope this performance will serve as an opportunity for local residents to reflect on Cheongsong's anti-Japanese righteous army history and boost their pride," adding, "I hope many people attend and enjoy a meaningful time experiencing cultural life."
