Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 26th that it selected seven sites, including Dolmunhwa Park, as 'Excellent Tourist Attractions' based on the operational evaluation of 31 public tourist sites.

The province establishes and evaluates the 'Public Tourist Site Operation Evaluation Plan' annually, covering the target tourist sites and evaluation fields and items. This year, from March to November, seven excellent tourist sites were selected through the public tourist site operation evaluation and committee deliberation.

The 'Best' tourist site is Dolmunhwa Park; 'Excellent' tourist sites include the Provincial Art Museum and Byeolbitnuri Park; 'Encouragement' tourist sites are Seogwipo Healing Forest and Seogwipo Astronomy Science Culture Center; and 'Development' tourist sites, which showed a significant increase in evaluation scores compared to the previous year, include the World Natural Heritage Center and Seobok Exhibition Hall.

Dolmunhwa Park, selected as the best tourist site, received consistently high scores across all evaluation items due to its creative content planning and operation, such as Haneulyeonmot, a photo spot popular among the younger generation, the creation of traditional culture experience spaces, the Jeju Dolmunhwa Geology Festival, and special exhibitions at the Obaekjanggun Gallery.

According to the results of the public tourist site operation evaluation, the province plans to award 700,000 KRW to one best site, 500,000 KRW each to two excellent sites, 300,000 KRW each to two encouragement sites, and 200,000 KRW each to two development sites.

Kim Hee-chan, Director of the Tourism Exchange Bureau, emphasized, “To strengthen the competitiveness of public tourist sites, we conduct evaluations annually to identify improvements in tourist site readiness. We will promptly address the improvement points for each tourist site to provide high-quality tourism services.”
