Next Candidate: Sim Deok-seop, Gochang County Governor Nominee
Namchul Lee, the governor of Goryeong County, Gyeongbuk, participated in the 'Hometown Love Donation Certification Challenge' on the 25th, supporting the activation of the Hometown Love Donation System and the spread of donation culture for the second consecutive year.
The Hometown Love Donation Certification Challenge is a donation relay started by National Assembly member Byungdo Han, who spearheaded the 'Hometown Love Donation Act.' It involves local government heads and celebrities nationwide, proceeding by certifying photos of hometown love donations and nominating the next participant.
Governor Namchul Lee joined the challenge upon the nomination of Gobokgyu Gu, governor of Hwasun County, a friendly exchange city, and nominated Deokseop Shim, governor of Gochang County, as the next participant.
Governor Lee said, "I am pleased to participate in the certification challenge to promote the spread of the Hometown Love Donation System," adding, "As the system enters its second year, I support its continuous development and hope it will establish itself as a good system that revitalizes our hometown and contributes to balanced regional development."
The Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than their place of residence. Donors receive tax deductions and local specialty products as gifts within 30% of the donation amount. The collected donations are used for regional development and improving residents' welfare.
