Dongjak-gu to Recruit 3,253 Participants for Senior Employment and Other Jobs Next Year

Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Ilha) announced on the 26th that it will begin recruiting participants for jobs in 2025, targeting a wide range of age groups from youth and middle-aged to seniors.


The recruitment period for the ‘2025 Senior Job Support Project’ is from the 27th of this month to the 23rd of next month, selecting a total of 3,253 participants, about 100 more than this year.

The district plans to provide various jobs by dividing a total of 51 projects into three categories: 2,419 public service type, 589 social service type, and 245 market type. The public service type recruits basic pension recipients aged 65 and over, and selected participants will perform tasks such as the Nodeul Clean Volunteer Group, traffic safety guidance, and support for the living of elderly living alone.


The social service type is open to all seniors aged 65 and over and will involve activities such as daycare helpers, senior center lunch helpers, and senior reading room assistants. The main projects of the market type, which seniors aged 60 and over in the district can participate in, include Turtle Delivery and working at the Happiness Plus Cafe.


Additionally, from the 25th to the 6th of next month, the district will recruit 197 participants for the ‘2025 First Half Companion Jobs.’ Thirty-seven projects have been prepared that allow a wide range of age groups from youth to middle-aged and seniors to participate, including civil service companion helpers, support for the operation of district libraries, and local environmental maintenance activities.


Residents of Dongjak-gu aged 18 or older with the ability to work can apply. However, the combined household income must be below 80% of the median income, and assets must be 499 million KRW or less.


Meanwhile, through the Dongjak Employment Support Center, which opened in May last year, the district offers various programs providing one-stop support from customized employment counseling to vocational training education and job placement. Among them, residents who participated in Dongjak-gu job training and job fairs will receive additional points when applying for companion jobs.


Residents wishing to participate in the 2025 job projects can apply by visiting their local community service center or the Dongjak Employment Support Center. Mayor Park Ilha said, “Through this senior and companion job project, we hope to expand residents’ opportunities for social participation and help stabilize household livelihoods,” adding, “We will continue to make every effort to provide customized job services that cover all generations.”
