The band Jannabi (Choi Jung-hoon and Kim Do-hyung) has come under controversy after it was revealed that former member Yoo Young-hyun, who left the team due to past school violence allegations, had collaborated with them until recently. In response to fan protests, the agency apologized, stating, "We disappointed fans due to inadequate handling."

According to the music industry on the 25th, Yoo Young-hyun, who left Jannabi amid school violence allegations, had been working as the band's sound engineer and cooperating at performances and rehearsals until recently.

As the controversy arose, Choi Jung-joon, CEO of the agency Peponi Music, stated through Jannabi’s fan cafe, "Peponi Music has decided to no longer proceed with Yoo Young-hyun’s role as sound assistant," adding, "The process of conveying this matter to fans was inappropriate. Also, due to poor judgment and inadequate response, many fans were disappointed."

He continued, "From the beginning, there was never any intention to hide or cover up this issue. However, since there were ongoing matters related to Yoo Young-hyun’s previous issues, we intended to provide detailed explanations after those were resolved." However, the agency denied allegations that Yoo Young-hyun was involved in Jannabi’s music production or participated in previous album work. The agency also stated, "We plan to take legal action against indiscriminate false information."

Jannabi member Choi Jung-hoon also said, "I want to apologize for trying to include that person as staff through an improper process."

Meanwhile, Jannabi was formed in 2011 by Choi Jung-hoon, Kim Do-hyung, and Yoo Young-hyun, and in 2015, Jang Kyung-joon and Yoon-gyeol joined, making it a five-member band. During this time, Yoo Young-hyun admitted to school violence in 2019 and left the band. Yoon-gyeol also left the team after receiving a suspended indictment in 2021 on charges of assaulting a woman. Jang Kyung-joon stopped band activities after getting married, and currently, Choi Jung-hoon and Kim Do-hyung continue Jannabi’s activities as a duo.
