Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) announced on the 26th that the Mechanical Parts Technology Officer Training Project Group conducted the "2024 Mechanical Parts Technology Officer Training Project University Freshmen Employment Competency Enhancement" training in Gyeongju from the 12th to the 14th.
This training was designed to help students learn core competencies such as interviews, document preparation, and employment strategies that they encounter during the job application process, aiming to improve students' employment rates.
The training was attended by 35 first-year students from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, the Semiconductor Mechanical Design Department of Doowon Technical University, and the Computer Information Department of Youngjin College, as well as six project group leaders and project managers from each university.
On the first day, students developed cooperation and teamwork through an escape room project. On the second day, education on how to prepare employment documents, interview training, and employment strategies was conducted, with students taking turns acting as interviewers and interviewees to gain practical experience. On the last day, students received useful information about job duties and employment through meetings with industry professionals.
The "Technology Officer Training Project" is a Ministry of SMEs and Startups-supported initiative that has been operating since 2010 to cultivate excellent technical professionals who play a central role in core industries such as machinery, automobiles, electronics, and semiconductors through linked education among specialized high schools, technical colleges, and industries, providing industry-demand customized curricula to nurture skilled technical personnel.
Students who participated in this training said, "We were very satisfied and pleased to learn various information about interviews and employment through this opportunity," and "I realized my weaknesses during interviews and learned appropriate solutions."
Kim Guk-yong, head of the Mechanical Parts Technology Officer Training Project Group at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, "Through this employment competency enhancement training, students gained confidence and opportunities for growth through interview and employment strategy education," adding, "The project group will continue to strive to cultivate excellent technical professionals based on this."
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was selected as a Technology Officer Training Project Group by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2011 and currently conducts linked education in cooperation with two high schools, Gyeongnam Technical High School (Mechanical) and Dong-Eui High School (Mechanical), as well as 134 small and medium-sized enterprises including Geonwoo Chogyeong Co., Ltd.
