Amid the uproar following the revelation that actor Jung Woo-sung and model Moon Ga-bi have an extramarital child, Jung Woo-sung's fans have issued a statement expressing their position.

On the 25th, a statement from fans regarding the extramarital child controversy was posted on the Jung Woo-sung gallery of the online community DC Inside. They began by saying, "Regarding the recent controversy over Jung Woo-sung's private life, fans trust his firm resolve and actively support the agency's position that he will do his best as a father for the child." They continued, "Since there is also the example of Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the world's best soccer players, we sincerely hope that through open-minded thinking, South Korea's popular culture can develop further." Ronaldo, whom they mentioned, also has five children out of wedlock, and the identity of the mother of his eldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., has not been publicly confirmed.
However, they explained, "Jung Woo-sung has served as an honorary ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Asia-Pacific region for 10 years since 2014, and he has expressed his belief that 'interest in refugees is not just about simple compassion to help those in difficulty, but a declaration of intent to raise voices on how to end these conflicts.'" They added, "Fans strongly urge Jung Woo-sung to provide a detailed explanation at the Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony on the 29th to protect the reputation he has built as an actor and honorary ambassador."
Earlier, on the 22nd, Moon Ga-bi revealed on her social media account that "as a mother of one child, I gathered the courage to live a little more ordinary happiness," announcing her recent childbirth. Two days later, entertainment media Dispatch reported that the son born to Moon Ga-bi is Jung Woo-sung's biological child. In response, Jung Woo-sung's side acknowledged, "He is indeed the biological father," and stated, "We are discussing the best way to raise the child and will fulfill our responsibilities as a father." However, they drew a line by saying, "We cannot confirm details related to the timing of the child's birth, the relationship between Moon Ga-bi and Jung Woo-sung, or marriage plans, as these are private matters."
Subsequently, on the 25th, Ten Asia reported, "Jung Woo-sung has been in a long-term relationship with a non-celebrity woman, who was greatly shocked upon learning about the existence of the extramarital child," fueling the 'extramarital child birth' controversy. Additionally, an instant photo showing Jung Woo-sung in physical contact with a non-celebrity woman was leaked mainly on online communities. Jung Woo-sung's side maintained their stance of "unable to confirm" regarding this matter. Furthermore, although the agency initially announced that he would "attend as scheduled" the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony on the 29th, on the 26th they stated they are "reconsidering attendance due to concerns that the event might be affected by issues related to Jung Woo-sung."
