Actor Jung Woo-sung (51) has been revealed to be the biological father of a son born to model Moon Ga-bi (35), and his agency has announced that they are reconsidering his attendance at an awards ceremony.

On the 26th, Jung Woo-sung's agency, Artist Company, stated, "We are reconsidering attendance at the event due to concerns that Jung Woo-sung's situation might cause disruption," adding, "We are currently in talks with the Blue Dragon Film Awards regarding this matter." Initially, they had announced, "Jung Woo-sung will attend the Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony as scheduled," indicating that he would proceed with his schedule regardless of the controversy surrounding his out-of-wedlock child. However, as the controversy showed no signs of subsiding, it is reported that they are feeling the pressure and are re-evaluating his attendance. Jung Woo-sung is currently nominated for Best Actor for the film Spring in Seoul, alongside Choi Min-sik (Pawn), Hwang Jung-min (Spring in Seoul), Lee Sung-min (Handsome Guys), and Lee Je-hoon (Escape).

Earlier, on the 22nd, Moon Ga-bi revealed on her social media account, "As a mother of one child, I have gathered the courage to live a life enjoying a more ordinary happiness," announcing her recent childbirth. Two days later, entertainment media Dispatch reported that the son born to Moon Ga-bi is Jung Woo-sung's biological child. In response, Jung Woo-sung's side confirmed, "It is true that he is the biological father," and stated, "We are discussing the best way to raise the child and will fulfill our responsibilities as a father." However, they drew a line by saying, "We cannot confirm details related to the timing of the child's birth, the relationship between Moon Ga-bi and Jung Woo-sung, or any marriage plans, as these are private matters."

Subsequently, on the 25th, Ten Asia reported, "Jung Woo-sung has been in a long-term relationship with a non-celebrity woman, who was deeply shocked upon learning about the existence of the out-of-wedlock child," fueling the controversy over the 'out-of-wedlock child birth.' Additionally, candid photos showing Jung Woo-sung engaging in skinship with the non-celebrity woman were leaked on online communities. Jung Woo-sung's agency maintained their stance, stating, "We cannot verify these photos."

Meanwhile, Jung Woo-sung debuted in 1994 with the film Gumiho and has appeared in numerous hits such as Beat, No Blood No Tears, A Moment to Remember, The Good, the Bad, the Weird, Cold Eyes, The King, and Hunt. Moon Ga-bi debuted as a model after winning the Miss World Bikini contest in 2011 and has been active in various variety shows including Charming TV, Bolbbalgan You, Law of the Jungle, and Get It Beauty. However, after her contract with her former agency, Workhouse Company, ended in 2021, she has reportedly not been active in broadcasting.
