Paldo announced on the 26th that the cumulative sales of 'Paldo Wang Ramen Soup Base' have surpassed 3 million units.
Wang Ramen Soup Base is a powdered seasoning product launched by Paldo in April. It was released with the idea of consumers utilizing the leftover soup base after cooking ramen in various ways. The product is individually packaged, making it convenient to carry during camping or travel, with a capacity of 5g.
Paldo cited the various usage methods as the secret to its popularity. By putting it in a cup and adding hot water, it can be easily enjoyed as ramen broth. When used in stir-fry dishes, it adds spiciness and umami flavor. It is also good to sprinkle as seasoning on snacks or chicken.
The influx of consumers led to an increase in sales. Following its entry into discount stores such as large supermarkets, it achieved sales of 1 million units within three months of launch. Since July, Paldo has supplied exclusive products to ‘Daiso’ stores, selling an additional 2 million units over five months.
Lee Won-gi, Paldo’s marketing manager, said, "Adding ‘Wang Ramen Soup Base’ during cooking can create unique dishes," and added, "We will continue to introduce various new products to expand consumer choices."
