A man who was drunk not only smoked a cigarette on a city bus but also urinated on the bus driver who tried to stop him and assaulted him, shocking the public. On the 25th, a video titled "Bus driver urinated on after telling passenger not to smoke" was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Han Moon-cheol TV.' The bus's internal black box footage, reported by a colleague of the victim, captured the incident that occurred around 11 p.m. on the 19th.

Drunken Passenger Urinates on and Assaults Bus Driver Who Asked to Stop Smoking, Sparking Public Outrage Bus driver B was startled by passenger A's urination and stood up from his seat, after which A assaulted him. Han Moon-cheol TV YouTube

At the time, six passengers including Mr. A were on the bus. Mr. A suddenly started smoking a cigarette while sitting in the back seat. The bus driver, Mr. B, approached Mr. A and stopped him from smoking. Mr. A seemed to comply and stopped smoking at that moment. However, shortly after Mr. B returned to the driver's seat, Mr. A took out a cigarette again, put it in his mouth, and started smoking. Mr. B informed him that he had reported the incident to the police and went back to the rear seat to stop him once more.

After stopping Mr. A, Mr. B resumed driving, but about five minutes later, a horrifying event occurred. Mr. A approached the driver's seat, pulled down his pants, and urinated on Mr. B. Startled, Mr. B jumped up from the driver's seat, at which point he was struck twice in the face by Mr. A. It is known that Mr. B was unable to continue driving after the assault and returned to the company. Due to the assault, Mr. B suffered bruises on his face and a bleeding wound on his forehead, resulting in injuries requiring two weeks of medical treatment. The informant expressed hope that "there will be no more assaults on transportation workers."

Attorney Han Moon-cheol, who watched the video, said, "Out of 100,000 videos, this is the first time I've seen something like this," expressing disbelief. He explained that the key issue is whether Mr. B's assault falls under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (Special Act) for assaulting a driver of a vehicle in operation or under general assault charges. Attorney Han said, "(The bus) was not completely stopped. There is room for debate whether this constitutes assault on a driver 'in operation' under the Special Act or just general assault." He added, "Either way, it will be considered assault on a driver. Even though he was drunk, he was aware enough to know where he was urinating. He stopped smoking when told to, then smoked again later, and reacted badly when the police were called. This should not be forgiven."
