60 Companies, Over 700 Job Seekers Participate... Largest Scale Ever
Job Mentoring and More Also Conducted
The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) held the '2024 Trade Day Commemorative Job Together Job Fair' on the 26th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Despite the fact that the number of discouraged job seekers reached 400,000 (as of last May), KITA stepped in to resolve the 'job mismatch' where frontline sites continue to face labor shortages.
To commemorate the statutory holiday 'Trade Day (December 5th),' KITA has been holding the 'Job Together Job Fair' annually since 2021. This year's event was held on the largest scale ever, with about 700 job seekers participating along with 60 advanced companies in secondary electronics and semiconductor materials sectors, including general trading companies such as POSCO International, GS Global, and LS Networks, as well as companies like Vinatech and YC.

At the event site, various side events were held not only for recruitment interviews but also to strengthen job seekers' employment capabilities. 'Job mentoring' participated by current employees from 20 major companies including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, POSCO International, and 3M Korea, along with seminars on employment strategies in the AI era and resume consulting, were conducted.
In addition, KITA also prepared a fair for overseas employment of outstanding talent. On the 15th, KITA co-hosted the 'Overseas Employment Fair' with Mynavi Korea, attended by 23 Japanese companies including Yamaha Motors and ANA Group. Furthermore, from the 25th, KITA is holding the '2024 Tokyo Bridge Job Fair' for employment of graduates from the association's affiliated training institution, the 'Trade Academy,' at local Tokyo for four days targeting Japanese IT companies. On the 29th, an online fair will also be held for recruitment by about 250 Korean companies operating in Japan.
Jung Hee-cheol, Secretary General of the Trade Academy at the Korea International Trade Association, said, "KITA has prepared a large-scale recruitment event targeting 1,000 young job seekers to resolve job mismatches," adding, "Going forward, KITA will continue to expand youth support projects and strengthen its role as a win-win platform between companies and talent."
