Singer Psy (real name Park Jae-sang) has clarified allegations that he had a luxury villa he previously lived in seized due to unpaid enforcement fines related to unauthorized extensions.

On the 25th, Biz Hankook reported suspicions that Psy had made unauthorized changes in use and unauthorized extensions to some units of a luxury villa in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. After complaints were raised about the unauthorized expansion of the house, Yongsan District Office confirmed the facts and issued a correction order to Psy. However, since Psy did not comply, enforcement fines were imposed, and because he did not pay them for over a year, the house was seized last May, according to the media. It is known that the seizure was lifted after Psy paid the enforcement fines on October 28.

Regarding this, Psy’s agency P Nation explained, "At the time of moving in, we received a clean new house from the builder and have lived there for over 17 years," adding, "Since purchasing, no changes in use or extensions have been made."

They continued, "After complaints were raised, we became aware of illegal extensions made to the building during the initial construction," and explained, "After confirming the facts, Psy coordinated with other unit owners of the villa and Yongsan District Office, and together with the villa’s unit owners, they are preparing construction work to correct the illegally extended parts by hiring a construction company."

Regarding the unpaid enforcement fines, they stated, "The delay in payment was only due to late receipt of the notice, but the full amount has now been paid."

Meanwhile, the villa in question is The House, a luxury villa located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, which Psy and his spouse purchased in September 2008 for around 2.2 billion KRW. The couple lived there until 2020 and have since been renting it out.
