The Namyangju Agricultural Technology Center (Director Jo Seong-gi) in Gyeonggi announced on the 25th that it won the Excellence Award at the ‘2024 Agricultural College Operation Outstanding Institution Selection Presentation Evaluation Competition’ held on the 20th.

The ‘Agricultural College Operation Outstanding Institution Selection Competition’ is an event hosted annually by the Rural Development Administration to comprehensively evaluate and award rural development institutions operating agricultural colleges nationwide, aiming to improve the performance and quality of agricultural education.
Through self-assessment, competency evaluation, and central evaluation document screening, 10 institutions out of 150 agricultural college operating institutions advanced to the presentation competition.
Namyangju City received high scores in evaluation categories such as △analysis of trainee needs △trainee satisfaction and improvement in farming ability △efforts to improve operations, ranking first in agricultural college operation within Gyeonggi Province and ultimately winning the Excellence Award.
Namyangju Green Agricultural College has provided customized education for local farmers, producing 2,165 graduates since starting the vegetable and fruit departments in 2006.
Especially this year, it opened courses in field crops, traditional fermentation, and smart agriculture, conducting education that links theory and practical skills, significantly increasing trainee satisfaction.
Jo Mi-kyung, Director of the Agricultural Life Policy Division, said, “This award is the result of the active participation and efforts of Namyangju Green Agricultural College graduates,” adding, “We will continue to reflect the courses needed by trainees and strive to contribute to the improvement of agricultural technology and the development of local agriculture.”
