Haenam-gun "Connected with Residents"... Wins Triple Crown in County Administration Promotion Marketing

Awards for SNS, Local Government, and Public Characters

Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, attracted attention by winning three awards in the field of county administration promotion, which draws out communication and empathy with residents.

According to the county on the 25th, it received the 2024 SNS Award for Best Basic Local Government on Facebook, hosted by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association, on the 21st. The SNS Award is the most prestigious award in Korea, given annually to institutions that actively communicate with citizens through a comprehensive evaluation of SNS operation status.

Haenam-gun is promoting the strengthening of social media (SNS) marketing as a key county administration task, informing the public about county policies, Haenam’s history, cultural tourism, and specialties through Facebook, YouTube, blogs, and more.

In particular, the YouTube channel that promotes Haenam’s charm has attracted great attention by discovering promotional content produced and starring county officials themselves and producing it as videos. Following the Sweet Potato Song and Cabbage Song themed on Haenam specialties, this year they produced the Seaweed Song and also created three versions of the “Song of Haenam,” which are broadcast through YouTube.

Additionally, at the 2024 Korea Local Government and Public Character Festival hosted by the Korea Content Licensing Association and Daejeon Tourism Organization on the 21st, Haenam-gun’s ‘Ttangkkeuti, Huimangi’ characters won the grand prize in the government and local government category.

Selected through expert judging and public voting, the Ttangkkeuti and Huimangi characters were created in 2017 and have gained popularity as Haenam-gun’s mascots expressing the friendly image of Haenam.

‘Ttangkkeut Haenam News,’ which delivers abundant county administration information throughout Haenam-gun, received the 2024 Korea Communication Award. The Korea Communication Award is the only nationwide award related to company newsletters hosted by the Korea Association of Company Publications, recognized for its prestige, and Ttangkkeut Haenam News published by Haenam-gun won the National Assembly Administration and Security Committee Chairman’s Award this year.

County Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan said, “As a result of focusing on communication administration with residents since the 7th local government, we have achieved good results,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen promotional marketing that informs the nation about Haenam and communicates and empathizes with residents in line with the times.”
