On the 25th, the city held a signing ceremony for the residential environment improvement project "Dukkeobi House" with POSCO Steelion and Save the Children at the city hall's main conference room, pledging to take the lead in creating safe and healthy living environments for underprivileged groups, including children at risk in the region.
Under this agreement, the city will be responsible for identifying target households and facilities and promoting the project. POSCO Steelion will support the project by providing sponsorship funds and volunteer activities using its technology and resources. Save the Children will offer expertise in project implementation and child support.
Prior to this agreement, the city, in collaboration with POSCO Steelion and Save the Children, completed the first Dukkeobi House residential environment improvement project for one selected household in November.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, "This agreement lays the foundation to discover underprivileged groups and welfare facilities in the Pohang area that need help and to expand Dukkeobi House to the 2nd and 3rd phases." He added, "I am grateful for the active participation of POSCO Steelion and Save the Children, who joined forces with us."
Kim Bong-cheol, CEO of POSCO Steelion, expressed his commitment, saying, "As a member of the local community, we will continue to provide unwavering support for the future of children."
Jung Tae-young, President of Save the Children, stated, "We prioritize children's rights and welfare, and through this project, we will do our best to ensure many children can grow up in safe and happy environments."
