Government Officials and Research Institutions Hold 'Google Cloud AI Seminar'

This event, organized by Google Cloud to explore continuous cooperation in advanced AI technology with Pohang City, was designed as a session to share Google's cutting-edge AI technologies.
The seminar began with an explanation of its purpose by Kim Seonsik, Head of Google Cloud's Public Sector, followed by presentations from Director Park Jinho and Google expert instructors on service innovation cases through AI utilization in the public sector.
The main topics included ▲Introduction to Google Cloud AI solutions (Vertex AI, Generative AI, etc.) ▲Cases of Google AI usage in the public sector ▲Automation of administrative tasks such as civil complaint processing, document creation, and data analysis ▲Improvements in citizen services through chatbots and personalized information provision ▲Solutions to urban issues like transportation, environment, and safety ▲Demonstrations of Google AI solutions including document summarization, translation, and image recognition ▲and the feasibility of applying these technologies to actual public work.
Additionally, as a follow-up to the 'Gyeongbuk Pohang AI Vision Declaration,' the seminar explored plans to expand and implement new AI projects by department starting in 2025. A side event also provided 1:1 AI consulting for attendees.
Mayor Lee Gangdeok stated, “I hope this seminar will serve as a stepping stone toward becoming South Korea’s leading AI city by sharing advanced global AI technologies like those from Google and through joint governance.” He added, “We will closely collaborate with local industries to create a successful win-win cooperation model.”
Google Cloud participated as a member of the 'Gyeongbuk Pohang AI Innovation Committee' at the 'Gyeongbuk Pohang AI Vision Declaration Ceremony' held on the 8th and is seeking cooperative measures for mutual growth with Pohang City in advanced AI technologies.
