The Exchange has been selecting outstanding companies in foreign exchange risk management targeting export and import companies since 2009 to widely raise awareness of the importance of foreign exchange risk management and the usefulness of KRX currency derivatives.
At this year's awards ceremony, the Korea Exchange selected TMC Co., Ltd. as the best company for effectively managing exchange rate fluctuation risks by establishing an in-house foreign exchange risk management process and utilizing KRX US dollar futures, and Young Poong Electronics Co., Ltd. and Tmotion Korea Co., Ltd. as excellent companies.
The awarded companies were evaluated to have a strong awareness of foreign exchange risk management among top executives such as CEOs, along with highly professional practitioners and systematic work procedures.
At the subsequent foreign exchange risk management seminar, held jointly with Samsung Futures, topics included next year's foreign exchange market outlook and excellent cases of foreign exchange hedging using KRX currency futures. Various information and views helpful for export and import companies in managing foreign exchange risk using currency futures were also shared.
A Korea Exchange official stated, "We plan to continuously strive to raise awareness of the importance of foreign exchange risk management and widely promote the usefulness of KRX currency futures."
