Damyang-gun's Dambit Youth Culture House announced on the 25th that the 'Heeroaerak Hyangchon Welfare Youth Volunteer Group,' formed by local youth, conducted volunteer activities for local senior citizens on the 23rd.
The 'Heeroaerak Hyangchon Welfare Youth Volunteer Group' spent time with the elderly by providing shoulder massages, trot and dance performances this year, following last year's 'Filial Piety Sharing' volunteer activities aimed at local seniors.
The seniors who participated in the event said in unison, "It felt really good to have children like grandchildren come and give us massages," and "Spending time with the children was so enjoyable that we lost track of time."
The youth volunteers shared their thoughts, saying, "It was a very precious time to perform meaningful volunteer work by massaging the seniors' shoulders, dancing, and singing together," and "We want to continue engaging in various volunteer activities for seniors like grandmothers and grandfathers."
A county official stated, "It was a meaningful time for local seniors and youth to interact and experience intergenerational communication," and added, "We will actively support the Dambit Youth Planning Group, which organized this volunteer group, so that they can continue to promote various youth activities."
