The event was organized to strengthen the capabilities of workers through sharing and spreading operational cases of each Sa-eil Center, to promote cooperation among centers, and to encourage the efforts of counseling staff, with about 60 employees from Sa-eil Centers in the northern Gyeonggi region attending.
The event began with an opening speech by Nam Un-seon, head of the Northern Business Headquarters of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, and was held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., consisting of two sessions. In the first session, the Western Regional Business Team of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation introduced the ‘2024 Baby Boomer Employment Support Project’ currently underway and new projects targeting the baby boomer generation for the next year.
Additionally, a special lecture was given by former MBC PD Kim Min-sik for middle-aged women in their 50s, who are the main visitors of the Sa-eil Centers, focusing on career design for reemployment support and helping them become future-oriented talents.
In the second session, a recreational program was held to help employees recover vitality from job stress accumulated throughout the year, followed by a presentation by Choi Yoon-seon, former Policy Research Director of the Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation, on the development of high value-added vocational education and training programs tailored to the northern Gyeonggi region conducted by the Gyeonggi Northern Region Sa-eil Center.
Especially in the second session, there was a time to share representative cases of major projects promoted by each Sa-eil Center in the northern Gyeonggi region, along with the selection, encouragement, and awarding of outstanding employees from each center. Furthermore, the achievements of the ‘Pro-Sa-eil Plan,’ a support project for Sa-eil Centers conducted annually by the Gyeonggi Northern Region Sa-eil Center, were introduced and reflections were shared.
Nam Un-seon, head of the Northern Business Headquarters of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, said, “Despite the many accumulated challenges in the northern Gyeonggi region such as an underdeveloped industrial structure, population outflow, and an aging society, the Sa-eil Centers have achieved excellent results. Through this achievement-sharing event, we hope to enhance the capabilities of Sa-eil Center workers in the northern Gyeonggi region, improve center management capabilities, share operational cases among centers, and expand perspectives in designing new vocational education and training, resulting in multifaceted effects.”
Meanwhile, in the northern Gyeonggi region, along with the Gyeonggi Northern Region Sa-eil Center, a total of eight general Sa-eil Centers (Goyang, Paju, Namyangju, Guri, Pocheon, Yangju, Northern Gyeonggi, Uijeongbu YWCA) and a career development type Sa-eil Center (Goyang MICE) are operating. Detailed information on each center and their websites can be found on the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation website. Inquiries related to the operation of Sa-eil Centers in the northern Gyeonggi region can be made through the Northern Job Team of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation.
