The grand prize winners of the contest were Jeong Jae-eun (2nd grade) from Sangye Elementary School in Gimhae in the lower elementary school category and Choi Ji-hoo (1st grade) from Jeongeup Middle School in the youth middle school category. The winners will receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award and prize money.

About 8,000 works were submitted to this contest held from May 14 to September 10. Winners were selected by categories including elementary, youth, general, and foreign participants.

Among them, Jeong Jae-eun, who won the grand prize in the lower elementary school category, reflected on her school life with her homeroom teacher last year and expressed her gratitude to the teacher in a letter.

Choi Ji-hoo, the grand prize winner in the youth middle school category, received high scores by writing a special letter conveying positive feelings to himself while recalling happy moments in daily life.

The contest has been held annually since 1986 to promote a national letter culture and foster warm emotions. This year’s theme was ‘Delivering Laughter Letters,’ and a special foreigner category was newly established, receiving positive responses.

The Korea Post plans to publish a collection of the winning works and distribute it to the winners, schools nationwide, and post offices.
