Personalized fitness app Jimwalk announced on the 25th that it has secured seed (early-stage) investment from Mashup Ventures.
Jimwalk is a personalized fitness solution that provides exercise programs and data analysis based on the user's health status, body type, and exercise level. It offers expert exercise routines that even beginners can follow, video guides, exercise record analysis, and social features for motivation.
Juyong Kim, CEO of Jimwalk, gained experience in planning and development at companies such as Hyperconnect. Through preparing for bodybuilding competitions and years of exercise experience, he developed a strong interest in health and body management and identified limitations in existing fitness solutions.
Jimwalk has achieved over 140,000 cumulative app downloads and a 50% revisit rate among new users, indicating high customer satisfaction. Inspired by the trend of increasing influence of fitness influencers, it provides long-term exercise guides of over four weeks planned directly by verified experts, as well as personalized exercise plans based on individual exercise records and goals.
CEO Juyong Kim said, “We have recently secured additional professional exercise coaches, including national weightlifting representative player Yangjae Lee, to enhance the expertise and diversity of our content, focusing on customer expansion and satisfaction. We plan to collaborate with overseas influencers for global expansion and aim to reach 700,000 monthly visitors by next year.”
Insang Hyuk, partner at Mashup Ventures who led this investment, said, “We highly evaluated the potential of the Jimwalk team, which clearly understands the high demand for digital fitness solutions among the MZ generation who are very interested in self-care and the inconveniences customers face. With CEO Kim, who possesses global capabilities and technical expertise, we believe overseas expansion can be accelerated.”
