Spine implant specialist L&K Biomed announced on the 25th that it has secured an initial order for height-expandable cages in Indonesia to expand the market for these products.
This year, L&K Biomed signed a dealership agreement with PT KIMERA FLUX in Indonesia. PT KIMERA FLUX has long been handling spine implant products within Indonesia and operates throughout Southeast Asia, including Singapore and Malaysia.
The initial order includes height-expandable cage products such as ExcelFix-XT and ExcelFix-XTP. ExcelFix-XT is the first height-expandable cage product developed by L&K Biomed and is used in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) as a posterior insertion height-expandable interbody fusion device. ExcelFix-XTP is the world's first height-expandable lateral cage product patented for its curved shape and technology.
Due to high interest and demand from medical professionals in Indonesia for the ExcelFix-XTP, the company successfully entered the Indonesian market. Starting with this initial order, an increase in orders for its height-expandable cage products is expected.
An L&K Biomed official stated, "Indonesia is currently a continuously growing medical device market within Southeast Asia," and added, "We will seek opportunities to expand the sales channels for height-expandable cage products through this cooperation." He further noted, "As a leading company in height-expandable cages, this will be an important milestone for expanding product supply beyond Vietnam and Indonesia to the entire Southeast Asian region."
On the 11th, at the Royal University Hospital in Thailand, which serves as a training center for height-expandable cages, the first anterior to psoas (ATP) surgery using ExcelFix-XTP was successfully completed. Additionally, in June, surgeries using ExcelFix-XT were performed at Can Tho General Hospital and Military Hospital 121 in the Can Tho region of Vietnam. Having secured the Southeast Asian markets of Vietnam and Thailand, the company plans to further increase its brand recognition and influence throughout Southeast Asia with this entry into the Indonesian market.
