Deloitte Consulting Korea Launches 'AI & Data Division'

Deloitte Consulting Korea, which has strengthened digital transformation and services through recent organizational and service restructuring, is expanding the launch of its 'AI & Data Division' to accelerate support for corporate clients in creating new AI-based value.

With the advent of generative AI accelerating corporate digital transformation (DX), the related market, estimated at approximately KRW 260 billion in 2024, is expected to grow at an average annual rate of over 17% for the next five years. In response, Deloitte Consulting announced the expansion and launch of the AI & Data Division to support companies' sustainable AI transition.

The AI & Data Division consists of about 100 technology and industry experts. The division head is Partner Chanwook Jung. Head Jung is an expert who has led digital innovation for various corporate clients at PwC Consulting, Microsoft (MS), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and others. To strengthen the division's expertise, specialists in each field have also been newly recruited. Senior Advisor Changmo Jung in AI, Partners Junghui Lee and Seongyong Kim in smart factory, and Partner Jongmin Kim, a big data expert, have joined.

The newly launched AI & Data Division provides end-to-end services covering everything from strategy formulation to engineering (design and development) and operations. In particular, it focuses on AI implementation and execution by collaborating as one global team. Through this, it plans to move beyond the existing single-process automation (hyper-automation) approach and focus on ‘Enterprise AI Transformation (Everything into AI),’ converting all corporate processes into AI.

The division will focus on industries that have actively promoted AI adoption, such as manufacturing, high-tech, and finance. These sectors are new markets that Deloitte Consulting is concentrating on, characterized by rapid digital transformation. It also plans to strengthen projects linked to large-scale manufacturing and finance sectors, including ▲establishing financial digital master plans, △project management office (PMO) for next-generation finance system construction, △establishing and building smart factory master plans based on manufacturing data, and ▲robot-based automation consulting projects.

Additionally, aiming for unmanned manufacturing and smart factory innovation, it plans to provide a complete end-to-end service that converts all manufacturing processes into AI through AI factory construction using AI twins and robot-based automation services.

Jaemin Bae, CEO of Deloitte Consulting, stated, “As demand for AI innovation among companies is expected to continue increasing, we will provide comprehensive consulting by closely analyzing customer needs throughout the entire process from strategy formulation to engineering and operations,” adding, “We will continuously support securing competitive advantages through AI optimization plans specialized for each industry.”
