Expansion of Payment Options Including Carrot Money Transfers and Bank Account Transfers
Danggeun announced on the 25th that it will expand the 'Safe Payment' feature of its own simple payment service, Danggeun Pay, for secondhand transactions nationwide. Through this nationwide launch, it is expected that a safer and more reliable transaction environment will be established in various situations such as high-priced item transactions or unavoidable non-face-to-face transactions.
Safe Payment is a method where the payment amount, which has been deposited in advance, is paid to the seller after the buyer confirms the item and finalizes the purchase. The Danggeun Pay Safe Payment service was piloted over the past month targeting Seocho, Gangnam, Songpa, Dongjak, and Gangdong districts in Seoul. After collecting various user feedback, the service underwent gradual functional improvements and has now been expanded nationwide.
To use the Safe Payment feature, both the seller and buyer must be registered with Danggeun Pay. The buyer can press the ‘Danggeun Pay’ button at the top of the chat room, select ‘Safe Payment,’ and then request Safe Payment from the seller. The transaction proceeds once the seller accepts the request.
A 2% Safe Payment usage fee of the transaction amount is deducted from the buyer’s Danggeun Money, and once the buyer confirms receipt of the item, the payment is made to the seller in real time. This feature allows the buyer to actively decide whether to use it according to their needs. If the buyer does not wish to use Safe Payment, they can still use existing methods such as transferring Danggeun Money or bank transfers.
Kim Young-sam, head of the Danggeun Pay payment service team, said, “With the nationwide expansion of the Safe Payment service, we expect enhanced user protection and convenience in various transaction situations, including non-face-to-face transactions.” He added, “We will continue to advance the service so that users across the country can use Danggeun secondhand transactions in a safer and more convenient environment.”
