Busan Transportation Corporation Holds Environmental Council Meeting with Railway Operators and Related Organizations

Gathered in One Place to Improve Customer Usage Environment Including Air Quality

Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byung-jin) hosted an environmental council meeting at its headquarters in Busanjin-gu, Busan, with nationwide railway operators such as Korea Railroad Corporation and Seoul Metro, as well as related organizations including the Busan Institute of Health and Environment.


The council meeting was held over two days on the 21st and 22nd to discuss measures for improving air quality in underground stations and solutions to environmental issues, sharing best practices and innovative technologies while deliberating on current environmental challenges.


The corporation, which organized the event, presented together with the Busan Institute of Health and Environment on "Factors Affecting PM-2.5 (Fine Dust) in Busan Urban Railway Underground Stations and Improvement Measures," sharing expertise on managing urban railway fine dust at the lowest levels nationwide. SR and FITI Testing & Research Institute presented on "Analysis of Indoor Air Quality Status and Improvement Measures" and "Measures to Improve Air Quality in Local Stations."


In addition to air quality, discussions were held on the topic of "Noise Measurement Standards," focusing on measurement methods and management criteria by each institution.


Lee Byung-jin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "As interest in climate change and citizens' health rights increases, we will do our best to share excellent achievements among institutions through the council and improve user environments such as station air quality and noise."
