Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 25th that it held the '2024 Energy Committee' on the 21st at the Goyang City Hall main conference room and discussed various measures for major energy projects.

The Energy Committee, based on the 'Goyang City Energy Ordinance,' promotes the efficient use and conservation of energy and the realization of rational energy consumption through the development and expansion of renewable energy. In addition, it serves as an advisory body on major energy policies of Goyang City to facilitate the transition to eco-friendly energy policies.

At the Energy Committee meeting held that day, the current status of projects in the energy sector for 2024 was reviewed, and future plans were shared and discussed with the attending committee members.

Goyang Special City shared the progress of projects promoted in 2024, including △energy-saving policies for public institutions △strategies for promoting the Goyang JDS District as a distributed energy specialized zone in the Free Economic Zone △expansion of renewable energy supply using idle land △master plan for the mini hydrogen city creation project △support for energy welfare projects related to gas safety and energy efficiency, and collected various opinions from the energy committee members.

A Goyang Special City official stated, “To proactively respond to the climate crisis, we will expand renewable energy supply projects and promote various energy projects tailored to local conditions.”
