According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least four people were killed and 23 injured in the early morning airstrike targeting a residential building in the Basta area of central Beirut.
The Lebanese state news agency NNA reported, "The Israeli Air Force completely destroyed an eight-story residential building on Al Mamoun Street in the Basta area with five missiles," adding that "rescue and search operations are underway."
According to witnesses, an explosion shook the area around 4 a.m., destroying one building and severely damaging several others nearby.
Meanwhile, this airstrike marks the fourth Israeli strike targeting central Beirut this week. The previous day, an Israeli airstrike targeted a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Lebanon, destroying an 11-story building and killing five Hezbollah-affiliated paramedics.
