According to JTBC Incident Manager's broadcast on the 22nd, the incident took place on Seoul Subway Line 2. Around 8:40 a.m. on the 19th, a woman in her 70s, Ms. A, fell badly while getting off at Bangbae Station.

The informant, who introduced themselves as Ms. A's child, reported the incident to Incident Manager. They claimed that another female passenger pushed their mother with her elbow. Ms. A then fell backward and reportedly hit the back of her head on the floor. With the help of another man nearby, Ms. A was able to board the subway again. It is said that due to the shock, Ms. A barely remembers the incident.

The informant explained that the woman who pushed Ms. A said something to the effect of "It’s because you got off late" and picked up Ms. A’s fallen hat. Although the informant witnessed the woman boarding the subway again, they claimed she left the scene without apologizing. Ms. A reportedly continued to feel pain in her head after boarding the train.

Ms. A later underwent a CT scan. However, aside from a bump caused by the fall, no significant health issues were found. The informant told Incident Manager that "the man who helped my mother get up gave us the time and location of the incident and advised us to report the woman," and that they have currently reported the woman to the police.

Meanwhile, there are calls for safety education regarding pushing and shoving in subways. It is noted that in the United States, safety education is a mandatory subject in high schools, and in the United Kingdom, it is part of the regular curriculum.

Previously, in the New York subway, a crime occurred where a stranger was pushed off the platform, causing controversy. Subsequently, the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) installed crime-prevention barriers in the subway. According to MTA data, passenger accidents on subway tracks increased by 20% in 2021 compared to 2019. If the barriers prove effective in preventing crimes, the MTA plans to install them in all subway stations throughout New York City.
