A, who has a prior record of similar crimes, conducted tutoring by presenting false credentials such as being a graduate of a prestigious university in Seoul, a former middle and high school math teacher, and an instructor at a well-known entrance exam academy.

He also defrauded single-parent families of tens of millions of won by falsely claiming, "There is a program supported by the education office for single-parent families," and "If you prepay the tutoring fee, you can get it refunded later."

Judge Na stated, "When parents request private tutoring for their children, the teacher's academic background and experience are the most important factors, and he exploited this by providing tutoring with false credentials," and added, "He committed a repeat offense during the probation period, so a prison sentence is imposed."
