Uijeongbu Lifelong Learning Center Opens 'Adult Learning Career Counselor' Training Course

The Uijeongbu Lifelong Learning Center Foundation (Director Yoo Sang-jin) announced on the 22nd that it opened the 'Adult Learning Career Counselor' training course on the 20th to promote adult career development competency enhancement education.

Following the Ministry of Education's announcement of the 'Career Education Activation Plan (2023?2027)' in 2023 and the proposal for the 'Career Education Policy for All Citizens (Lifelong Career Education),' various discussions have been ongoing in the field of lifelong education.

This education program aims to expand awareness of adult career education and present concrete methods for adult learning career counseling for the first time in northern Gyeonggi Province. Experts from various fields were invited to derive the Uijeongbu-style adult learning career counseling agenda in line with national policy directions.

The education targets a total of 30 participants, including general citizens, lifelong education-related institution personnel, lifelong educators, and social workers. The curriculum consists of eight sessions covering △ adult career education counseling and policy trends △ development and utilization exploration of adult career counseling tools △ strategies for adult career counselors △ relationship building and situational response in adult career counseling.

A representative from the Uijeongbu Lifelong Learning Center stated, “With the addition of adult career development competency education to the six major areas of lifelong education, this concept has become even more important as we enter the super-aged era. We will strive to provide learning career counseling to citizens in a systematic way at the learning center in the future.”
