30th Anniversary Commemorative Symposium

The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced that the Korea Fair Competition Federation held the '30th Anniversary Commemorative Joint Symposium of the Korea Fair Competition Federation' on the afternoon of the 22nd at the Swiss Grand Hotel, together with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korean Society of Competition Law, and the Korea Competition Forum.

Since its establishment in 1994, the Federation has been engaged in activities such as education and consultation related to fair trade, expanding the dissemination of compliance (internal control) programs, and the rational enforcement of competition policies for 30 years.

The symposium discussed issues related to spreading a culture of voluntary compliance with fair trade by the Fair Trade Commission, and improving the compliance management environment in the prosecution and courts.

The event was attended by Park Seongjae, Minister of Justice; Lee Sangwon, Chairman of the Supreme Court Sentencing Commission; Nam Dongil, Secretary General of the Fair Trade Commission; and Park Iljun, Executive Vice President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, among others.

Shin Hyunyoon, President of the Federation, emphasized, "To realize fair competition and enhance management transparency and efficiency, companies themselves must continuously strive to correctly understand and voluntarily comply with fair trade laws and regulations."

He added, "At this important time, active cooperation and roles from the courts and prosecution for institutional establishment are as crucial as the efforts of the Fair Trade Commission."
