Positive Feedback for Minimizing Damage with Real-Time Weather Information

Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center announced on the 22nd that it was selected as an "Excellent Institution" in the 2024 Rural Development Agency Promotion Evaluation at the "Rural Development Industry Promotion Workshop" hosted by the Rural Development Administration, held at the Grand Hotel in Andong, Gyeongbuk on the 21st.


The rural development agency promotion evaluation was conducted to contribute to the advancement of rural development projects and to promote publicity by diversely informing the research and development and dissemination achievements. This year, four institutions, including Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center, were selected as excellent institutions.


In this evaluation, Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center received high marks for providing real-time agricultural weather information using media coverage and various online channels, minimizing damage from agricultural disasters such as heatwaves and pests.


Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center established communication channels with citizens by operating various forms of agriculture such as urban agriculture, healing agriculture, and rural convergence industries through performance sharing meetings, workshops, and live commerce. The center also increased user interest by producing and promoting programs it operates through images and videos, and made efforts to convey diverse agricultural values that resonate with both farmers and urban residents.


Kim Sira, director of Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center, said, "This award is the result of efforts to promote the diverse values of agriculture and rural areas through content that citizens can relate to," and added, "We will do our best to provide customized agricultural services to meet the changing agricultural environment."
