Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 22nd that it has successfully completed the Level 1 Storytelling Instructor certification course promoted by Myeonam Central Library.

The Level 1 Storytelling Instructor certification course was designed to cultivate the theory and practical skills necessary for storytelling narration, enhance the ability to convey stories using picture books, and thereby promote reading culture activities in the local community.
The course was conducted over a total of 10 sessions, with 13 participants obtaining the certification. After the course completion, participants plan to carry out storytelling practice in connection with educational institutions.
Additionally, in December, they will engage in storytelling volunteer activities for young children at Myeonam Central Library, giving back the knowledge they have acquired to the local community.
The participants said, “Through this storytelling instructor course, we were able to learn practical skills necessary for storytelling narration, such as creative expression methods and voice utilization, as well as ways to empathize and communicate with children.”
A representative from Pocheon City Library stated, “Thanks to the passion and efforts of the citizens, the program was successfully completed. Pocheon City will continue to do its best to ensure that Myeonam Central Library becomes a cultural hub where learning and sharing can be practiced.”
