Uijeongbu-si Conducts Contract Review Job Training for 2024

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 22nd that it conducted the ‘2024 Contract Review Job Training’ on the 21st at the Information Library Cinema Heaven for its public officials and employees of related organizations.

This training was organized for employees in charge of construction, service, and goods procurement projects from the City Hall, Uijeongbu Urban Corporation, Uijeongbu Cultural Foundation, Uijeongbu Commercial District Activation Foundation, Uijeongbu Youth Foundation, and Uijeongbu Lifelong Learning Center.

The contract review system is a system that reviews the appropriateness of the estimated price for contracts and design change amounts for projects ordered by local governments to operate local government finances soundly and efficiently. Through the operation of the contract review system, the city saved 770 million KRW in its budget this year.

On that day, lecturer Ko Hyung-jin from Kyung Hee University’s Institute of Industrial Relations focused on the methods and procedures for calculating estimated prices, design changes, price fluctuations, and contract amount adjustment systems.

Uijeongbu City is distributing the 2024 Contract Review Casebook, which includes an understanding of the contract review system and review cases by field, to help strengthen the job capabilities of project managers.

Kim Se-won, the Audit Officer, said, “The budget saved through the operation of the contract review system is being reinvested in necessary areas such as the development of our city’s infrastructure and revitalization of the local economy, emphasizing its importance. We will continuously review whether estimated prices are excessively or insufficiently calculated and strive for efficient execution of the city’s finances.”
