'High-Heeled Trump' Marjorie Teams Up with Musk... Federal Reform

New House Subcommittee on Government Efficiency to Be Established Early Next Year
Marjorie Taylor Greene Appointed as Inaugural Chair
Fierce Trump Supporter, Also Controversial for Conspiracy Theories

Marjorie Taylor Green, a member of the House of Representatives from Georgia, has been selected as the chair of the House subcommittee that will lead federal reform alongside Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and head of the newly established U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

In a statement sent to CNBC on the 21st (local time), Representative Green said, "I am pleased to serve as chair of the new subcommittee designed to work closely with President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and the entire Department of Government Efficiency team," adding, "(In the subcommittee) no topic will be excluded, and it will lead to the dismissal of government officials."

Earlier, CNBC reported citing sources that James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, plans to form a subcommittee early next year to lead federal spending cuts alongside the Department of Government Efficiency. The sources said Comer is already collaborating with Ramaswamy, and the newly established committee will be named the "Delivering on Government Efficiency" (DOGE), inspired by the acronym of the Department of Government Efficiency.

In an interview with Fox Business on the same day, Chairman Comer declared, "We will work very closely with Musk and Ramaswamy," adding, "There are many bloated agencies in the government. The new committee will cut them out." Ramaswamy also emphasized, "I look forward to working with Congress," and stressed, "What matters is proper oversight and public transparency."

Representative Green, who will work closely with the two co-heads of the Department of Government Efficiency, is a far-right pro-Trump politician even within the Republican Party. She has been known for erratic behavior, such as claiming that the Democratic Party staged the school shooting incident at a Florida high school and promoting conspiracy theories that the 9/11 attacks in 2001 were fabricated, which led to her being ousted from a House standing committee. She earned the nickname "High Heel Trump." In March, she stirred controversy by appearing at President Joe Biden's speech wearing a red hat with the slogan "MAGA" (Make America Great Again), associated with former President Trump.

Meanwhile, CEO Musk and Ramaswamy, co-heads of the Department of Government Efficiency, contributed an article to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) the day before outlining specific operational plans for the department. They declared the abolition of remote work, stating, "If federal employees are required to come to the office five days a week, many will voluntarily quit." They also mentioned that cutting funds that are spent in ways not approved or intended by Congress could reduce federal spending by more than $500 billion, citing targets such as the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), international organizations, and subsidies to progressive groups.
