Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 21st that the 'Kyobo Dasomi Global Volunteer Group,' composed of employees and protected children, visited Nano Village on the outskirts of Vientiane, Laos, and carried out various volunteer activities. Nano Village is a poor rural village in Laos, where the residents' average monthly income is only about 76,000 KRW, which is half of the average monthly income.
The volunteer group repaired elementary school classrooms, flower beds, and playgrounds in Nano Village, providing a safe and comfortable educational environment. They also built close relationships with Laotian children through various activities such as making kiring and rubber-powered planes. Sharing Korean food like rice balls and beef bulgogi and holding sports events allowed them to connect beyond language barriers. On the last day, they supported the students' dreams by providing electronic devices such as laptops through a scholarship award ceremony and donation of supplies.

The volunteer activity was made even more meaningful by the participation of five middle and high school students from child care facilities who are beneficiaries of 'Kkumdokkaebi' education. Kkumdokkaebi, a representative social contribution project of Kyobo Life Insurance, is a program that supports the growth of protected children through various supports, including basic language education, psychological counseling, financial education, digital creative education, career and job experience, and certification acquisition.
Kyobo Life Insurance's overseas volunteer work with protected children aims to provide them with experiences in new environments to help them grow into healthy members of society. One protected child said, "It was truly rewarding to realize that we, who used to only receive help, can give someone a small but meaningful change." Another protected child said, "Seeing children who play with just one ball without even a cellphone and yet never lose their smiles made me rethink the standards of happiness," adding, "I want to grow into an adult who can help others in the future."
Previously, since 2011, Kyobo Life Insurance built schools and libraries in the underdeveloped rural areas of Binh Can Dong, Anh Hip Township, Tam Phu District, and Da Phuc Hoi Township in Binh Thuan Province, Vietnam. In 2017, they established a library at Sanjallun Elementary School in Laos. Through the Love House Building volunteer program, they provided 23 homes in Binh Thuan Province, Vietnam. These social contribution activities are part of efforts to help children and adolescents grow into healthy members of society based on the founding philosophy of 'National Education Promotion.'
A Kyobo Life Insurance official stated, "We will continue global social contribution activities to improve educational environments in underdeveloped areas so that children can nurture their dreams."
